ECDA publishes a new paper on environmental risks & NCDs
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) remain a major health challenge across Europe, profoundly affecting lives, economies, and societies. They are the leading causes of mortality and disability, accounting for 91% of all deaths and 88% of Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) in the EU. A critical but often underestimated factor contributing to this growing health challenge is the environment.
Today, the European Chronic Disease Alliance (ECDA) has published a new paper exploring the vital link between environmental health and NCDs. The paper highlights how environmental factors significantly contribute to the onset and progression of NCDs and presents a comprehensive set of recommendations to address these challenges and drive meaningful improvements.
